Highlights of meeting post AGM:

  • Two  bids put forward to the Bus Investment Fund: one on the Haddington to Wallyford Park and Ride; and one for the post of a Bus Development Officer post.
  • ELC staffing issues – Cllr Veitch reported on staffing changes. He explained the tender process for services.
  • Passenger Charter – Philip Immirzi reported that a first meeting had been very useful. The next meeting on 4 September would focus on ELC.
  • Bus Users Scotland – Gavin Booth reported that the group was working with the Scottish Government on a number of issues. Funding had been made available for an office and staff. Complaints, including the appeal process, and bus compliance monitoring were two issues that had been taken on, with a system of bus monitors throughout Scotland being set up.
  • Barry and Philip will draft response by 4 October 2013.
  • Michael Veitch had met with First and requested a public consultation event in Dunbar.
  • New timetable from 30 September; 130 will be Dunbar Town Service and 120 Dunbar – North Berwick. 128 Haddington – ERI will include Gullane. 129 will have improved connection with Prestonpans Station.
  • Eve and Prentice happy to meet every 6 months or so and tweak services if necessary.
  • Question on the 113 – the service is to become all double deck because of capacity issues
  • Question on bus passes not being allowed on trams – Michael Veitch will take this up with Edinburgh Transport Convenor.
